The Van de Graaff generator can be operated manually or by motor, depending on the placement of the driving belt, to produce extremely high voltages with low current intensity. The sphere can be dismantled. The generator is operated by a 220V AC motor with a motor speed control unit.

These conductors are made from brass and are interchangeable on the pillars. Each conductor has an ebonite stem, which is attached to a metal base. Insulated Stool. For use in experiments with static electricity. The base is covered with laminate and mounted on PVC legs.

A conducting sphere (the dome) is supported by a plexiglass pillar and a rubber belt driven by an electric motor concealed in the metal base. Static electrical charge is produced by friction between this band and two rollers, one of polythene, one of plexiglass. The charge is removed from the belt by a metal gauze and stored in the dome. Motor uses a 3 wire cable connected to the mains. The base is fitted with a 4mm dia. socket which can be used either for supporting a conducting sphere (fitted with a cranked rod support) or for a wire connection to a separate conducting sphere (fitted on a plexiglass rod). A dust cover is provided. With accessory kit.
