In a satin mahogany, French Provincial style cabinet our Yamaha M2 is certainly one of the more unusual designs which Yamaha has produced over the years. These were mostly for the American market and consequently a particularly rare find here in the UK.
Little used since it was reconditioned in c.2007, the piano was made in 1968 in the main factory in Hamamatsu, Japan and is in superb condition, both technically and cosmetically.
Similarly sized to the new Yamaha b1, the piano benefits from a solid spruce soundboard, a full length 88 note keyboard and a practice pedal, making it a great choice of instrument for the beginner to intermediate player, and also a unique furniture piece.
The piano has a lively, strident tone and an easy action and is worth comparing with other used uprights including the Kemble Cambridge 10, Kawai K15 and Yamaha LX113T.
